One Bowl Brownies

Well it was a busy travel weekend for the family, so unfortunately I did not get to cook much this weekend and therefore don’t have any meals to share with you.  Instead I thought I’d share my favorite easy, homemade brownie recipe.  I actually have a few brownie recipes in my repertoire, but this is my go to when I want dessert and only have a little time to bake.  You only use one bowl so it also makes for easy cleanup!

One Bowl Brownies
Yields: 24 Servings

4 ounces Unsweetened chocolate
3/4 cup Butter or margarine
2 cup Sugar
3 Eggs
1 teaspoon Vanilla
1 cup Flour
1 cup Pecans (coarsely chopped, optional)

1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
2. Grease 13×9-inch pan.
3. Melt chocolate and butter in large microwavable bowl on high 2 minutes or over double burner until butter is melted. Stir until chocolate is completely melted. Stir in sugar. Blend in eggs and vanilla. Add flour and nuts; mix well. Pour into prepared pan.
4. Bake 30 to 35 min. or until toothpick inserted in center comes out with fudgy crumbs. Cool completely.

*Notes from experience: If you choose to microwave the chocolate it will not melt completely during the time indicated, however the butter should.  The key is to stir the partially melted chocolate into the melted butter to completely melt it.  It may seem soup at first, but just keep stirring!

 These are so much fudgier (is that a word?) than box-mix brownies and really not that much harder to make.  I would highly recommend!
